| Well from my understanding the lag would be reduced because the longer runner you have the less lag – to a point. The reason for this is because you have multiple exhaust pulses in the manifold opposed to a short runner. This helps with spool. This is why Escort racing moved the turbos upfront on one of their cars. On the other hand it works the opposite way as well. The closer they are to the block the quicker they spool because of the lack of time delay for each pulse. So there is an optimum on both end…I would love to know what it is on each.
